Recap: DSF Game On 2025 – A Celebration of Innovation in Data Science

This Saturday, May 17th, we had the pleasure of sponsoring DSF Game On 2025, the 11th annual Data Science Festival held at CodeNode in London. With over 600 data professionals, analysts, engineers, and AI enthusiasts gathering under one roof, the event lived up to its reputation as one of the UK’s premier community-driven festivals in the data science space.

A Day Packed with Insight and Inspiration

The festival featured 40 speakers across five dedicated track rooms, each offering a unique lens into the current and future state of data, analytics, and AI. Topics ranged from practical applications of LLMs in traditional industries, to agent-based modeling, real estate forecasting, and ethical considerations around bias in AI.

We contributed our own session: Shifting Left: Getting your data earlier, smarter and cheaper

This covered the benefits of real-time data and Shift Left architectures. The shift left approach streamlines data processing by bringing offline workloads closer to online, reducing complexity and boosting efficiency. This means – faster insights, fewer headaches, and a more unified data experience.

It was a fantastic, well attended session that underlined the importance of data in the AI driven data science world.

A few other standout sessions included:

  • Elevate your RAG game, from good to Great – Discovering the secrets behind creating a top-tier Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system
  • Human-Agent Collaboration in Data Science & AI – Exploring the realities of human-agent collaboration in AI and data science teams
  • Sports Analytics with Synthetic Data – a fascinating look into how artificial data is enhancing competitive performance

Each session brought fresh insights and sparked vibrant discussions both during and after the talks.

Community, Culture, and Competition

What made DSF Game On special wasn’t just the content — it was the community. From spontaneous hallway conversations to deeper networking opportunities, the atmosphere was inclusive, friendly, and refreshingly collaborative.

Attendees also had a chance to enter a LinkedIn competition by sharing highlights from the day — with the lucky winner walking away with a brand-new iPad and VIP passes to the upcoming Winter Fest.

Accessibility and Experience

The organizers ensured the venue was accessible and welcoming for all, with clear signage, wheelchair access, reserved seating, and a commitment to inclusivity throughout the day. Lunch, coffee, swag bags, and plenty of breakout areas helped fuel the conversations and keep the energy high.

Looking Ahead

If you weren’t able to attend or want to revisit your favorite sessions, the DSF team will be releasing select talk recordings on their website soon.

A huge thank you to the DSF organizers, speakers, volunteers, and attendees for making this such a vibrant and valuable experience. We’re already looking forward to DSF Winter Fest later this year!
